CITIZEN FIRST RESPONDER COURSE

Be ready when every second counts. The Citizen First Responder Course in Bayside, Queens trains you in emergency first aid and trauma response so you can act immediately—before EMTs arrive. Learn bleeding control, airway & respiratory management, trauma & shock care, and situational awareness. Ideal for parents, workplace safety teams, outdoor enthusiasts, or anyone committed to community safety.

Course Highlights:

1. Bleeding Control & Trauma Care

• Proper use of tourniquets, pressure bandages, and hemostatic agents
• Identifying and treating gunshot wounds, lacerations, punctures, and abrasions
• Emergency response to mass casualty incidents

2. Airway & Respiratory Management

• Clearing blocked airways and recognizing respiratory distress
• Applying nasopharyngeal airways (NPA) and chest seals for penetrating trauma
• Recognizing signs of collapsed lungs and severe breathing issues

3. Trauma Response & Shock Management

• Understanding and treating different types of shock
• Stabilizing fractures, burns, and head injuries
• Proper immobilization techniques for spinal cord injuries

4. Situational Awareness & Emergency Action Planning

• Threat assessment and response in high-stress situations
• Understanding cover, concealment, and evacuation strategies
• Team-based emergency response techniques
